Full steam ahead for the Ideal Home Show

February 9th, 2009

Of course, preparations for the Ideal Home Show at Earls Court from 20 March-13 April have been simmering away for a few months already, but now it’s time to turn up the heat and get all those last minute items in place in the final month leading up to our first time exhibiting at the show. We are on stand 1E21 in a great location and, in a fantastic tribute to the product, the StudyBed has been selected by the organisers to feature in the Classic Show Home! The emphasis this year is on ‘Improve, don’t move’, and this is where the StudyBed really comes into its own. We are absolutely thrilled to be asked to help, especially as it gives us the opportunity to showcase a bespoke finish to match the exacting requirements of the show home’s designer. The snow may have been a chilly start to the month, but all this activity is keeping us very warm indeed.

Hocus pocus at Interiors Birmingham

January 21st, 2009

Our first ever stand at Interiors Birmingham,  the premier trade show for the furniture business, went off really well. We met a huge range of people, from individuals running their own retail or design firms, right through to those responsible for purchasing budgets in the millions. What was universal, however, was the sense of wonder at the StudyBed: what a great concept, what a fantastic way to save space, what a productand very flattering when well-seasoned furniture pros came up and told us it was the most exciting product they had seen in years. So what was all that about hocus pocus? Well, not that we had much time to spare, but our friend on a neighbouring stand did a great line in card tricks - thanks for the added entertainment, Steve, it was the perfect warm up to another amazing piece of magic…The StudyBed!

StudyBeds at the Ideal Home Show

January 5th, 2009

We are really excited to report that we’ve just signed up to exhibit at this year’s Ideal Home Show, running from Friday 20th March to Monday 13th April at Earl’s Court, London. Visit us on stand 1E21 and see the remarkable StudyBed in action.

Lights, camera, action

November 6th, 2008

After all this year’s coverage on TV, we’re getting so used to life in front of the lens that we’ve starting filming our own DVD. Hopefully it’ll be a neat way of sharing our excitement about the StudyBed with you, as it gives the opportunity of showing the conversion from bed to desk in action. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so how much must a moving picture be worth? My ever-smiling daughter, Rowenna, has been persuaded to model once again; and a number of satisfied customers have been only too happy to provide filmed testimonials saying how pleased they are with their StudyBeds. And two of our fitters, Steve and Chris, feature as well – thanks, lads! We hope their section on self-assembly may be of huge benefit for those of you handy enough to take on this quite challenging task in the future.

Another appearance on ITV 1’s ‘60 Minute Makeover’

September 15th, 2008

The power of TV and, seemingly, the power of our product – amazing! Enquiries were still coming in from our previous TV appearance in March, but today’s programme has had exactly the same impact: phones ringing literally non-stop and over 3,000 website visits within just a few hours. ITV 1’s ’60 Minute Makeover’ yet again featured a StudyBed, this time custom-finished for a child’s room. Taking James Bond as the theme, designer Derek Taylor asked us for a high tech-looking bed painted in silver that would make the most of the tight space. And you all loved it as much as young Conor did! In the words of his mother, “This fantastic bed and desk combination will see him right through.”

StudyBeds and The Housing Crisis

July 28th, 2008

Furniture sales are supposed to be a casualty of the current slow house market, but not so the StudyBed. Every week, sales are on the up, and repeatedly we are being told that the fitting of a StudyBed will go a long way to solving one’s space needs. As they say, ‘Don’t Move, Improve’ – and the StudyBed demonstrates that there are alternative solutions to moving house if more space is required.

Life after the TV programme

April 2nd, 2008

This has been VERY hectic, to say the least! For the first two hours immediately after the makeover programme finished, the phone rang non-stop; the rest of the day saw over 3,000 website visits despite the site buckling under the strain; we have received literally hundreds of enquiries for more information; and orders are pouring in daily. Fortunately we are geared up for this by carrying large stocks which we can deliver very quickly throughout the country.

We always knew that the StudyBed was a product to be seen to be believed: compared to a conventional wall bed, a StudyBed offers so much more.

The StudyBed on ITV 1’s ‘60 Minute Makeover’

March 28th, 2008

This was screened on Wednesday 26th and featured two of our beds being installed in a house in Sawston, Cambridgeshire. The transformation in terms of neatness and space-saving was clear for all to see. If you missed this programme, it is viewable for a few days at ITV.com’s ‘catch up’ service.

StudyBed on TV

March 20th, 2008

See us on ITV1 at 2pm on Wednesday 26th March on ‘60 Minute Makeover’, installing two StudyBeds in a small room accommodating two students. The amazing transformation demonstrates just what StudyBeds can achieve in tight spaces: space-saving furniture at its best. Were the fortunate recipients pleased ? Watch and find out.

New 4ft Small Double StudyBed now available

February 12th, 2008

We have extended the range of beds to include this incredibly compact space-saving StudyBed. Taking a standard 4ft (small double) mattress, it projects only 107cm from the wall in desk form; it is ideal as either a generously sized Single or a cosy Double. Unlike most wall beds, it is free-standing, in keeping with the style of our 3ft and 4ft 6″ versions. It is also possible to fit one of our perfectly matched Top Boxes, for extra storage. These make perfect guest beds within your home office.
