Q. My StudyBed has become noisy when being slept in, particularly when turning over in the bed
A. The very most likely cause of this, is because the desk might not be sitting fully and firmly on the floor, and in most instances, this si caused by an object or cable that is preventing the back of the desk from fully sitting on the floor. Please carefully check that any cables are not looping back during the conversion process.
Secondly, it may be possible that the position of the StudyBed has shifted slightly, typically away from the wall, and although they are free-standing, if the floor is not entirely level then this can cause a slight twisting of the structure leading to some movement when in bed mode. Please check that the bed has not shifted forward from the wall, particualry if that means that one side might be sitting on gripper rod.
General looseness of the fixings.. this is very unlikely to happen under normal use, but if any screws have been loosened or removed, possibly during any rebuild process, then this may be a factor. None of the fittings should ever come loose on their own accord and are tightened to where the screw head is flush with the wood but not buried into it. In more recent times we have been fitting corner brackets attached to the slats and bed frame sides which create even greater solidity, and these can easily be added if required..
Q. I have dismantled and rebuilt my StudyBed but seem to have lost some parts in the process
A. This is very common, and we would certainly strongly recommend that great care is taken to bag up and secure any small parts removed during this process. However, we do of course kep a stock of everything, so if you really can not find them, please see our Spare Parts order form
Q. My StudyBed has become much harder to operate
A. If the StudyBed is over 5 years old, and particularly been in regular daily use, possibly carrying a heavyish load on the desk, and maybe more so with a 4ft 6 Double, then a new pair of hydraulic struts should make all the difference. These can be found on our Spare Parts order form and are simple to replace
Q. We have accidentally damaged some of the panels on our StudyBed
A. We can often supply replacements, although due to modifications over the years, this is not always guaranteed, so please email us with some photos and the serial number of the bed ( found on the rear bed rail) or indeed your name and approx date of purchase will suffice
